A much loved and well used armchair was given to us by Nicole Campbell in Crookes, Sheffield to re-cover with a playful, fun fabric from Studio G – On the Farm. The transformation was incredible (see photos below).

Wingback Chair Upholstered in Tropical Fabric
Ros Tratt from Greystones, Sheffield asked The Unique Seat Company to source an fun, dramatic, bold fabric for her worn out, tired wingback armchair. Ros decided on an incredibly beautiful tropical print velvet fabric for the front of the chair from Linwood’s Omega Prints range. For the back of the chair Ros chose an equally sumptuous emerald green plain velvet fabric. Ros’s comments: “Just wanted to say how much we love the chairs! Button Covering Services We are now able to offer button covering services to the UK and the rest of the world. The buttons, with wire loop backs, are available in Sizes 24, 30 and 36. The buttons are suitable for all upholstery projects. 20th Century Armchairs – Joel Latham (Kelham Island, Sheffield)
Joel Latham from Kelham Island, Sheffield (just around the corner from our workshop) came to see us with his two 20th Century armchairs which he wanted bringing up-to-date. Parker Knoll Armchair – Caroline Simpson (Bristol)
Caroline Simpson from Bristol emailed us after seeing our work on the website. Our antique furniture, upholstered in modern fabrics, had inspired her and she had decided to have a Parker Knoll armchair, which had been passed down to her by her parents, re-upholstered in an on-trend fabric so that the chair would fit nicely into her modern home. Caroline chose a stunning fabric from Designers Guild (Colonnade – Zinc). We stripped the chair to the frame replacing all the old, worn fillings and then stripped the wood, re-staining to a dark, almost black, finish to get rid of the mahogany red colour which Caroline disliked and then French polished and waxed the woodwork. Antique Wing Armchair Our re-upholstery and re-covering services can transform an ordinary piece of furniture into something spectacular. A good example of this is when Helen Honisett of Nether Edge, Sheffield approached us for a quote for her beloved antique wing armchair. The chair had been upholstered several times by previous generations of Helen’s family and now required an update due to looking tired after years of excessive use and unwanted attention from the family cats. 20th Century Armchair – Steve Terry (Beauchief, Sheffield)
Steve Terry from Beauchief, Sheffield found The Unique Seat Company through the website and paid us a visit at our workshop to discuss re-covering his unusual, 20th Century armchair. Steve chose a beautiful velvet fabric from the Linwood Annecy range and asked us to make a scatter cushion in the same fabric with a luxurious feather pad. Steve was so pleased with the results that he asked us to make a further 4 scatter cushions, in the same fabric, for his white leather sofa.
